Michael Symon is probably best known for his role on ABC's popular culinary show, The Chew! His most recent book, "5 in 5 For every Season" is a collection of some of his best and most simple recipes!
As the name implies, each dish contains 5 fresh ingredients and 5 minutes of heat! Most of the recipes include 3 or 4 other ingredients which are generally pantry staples. The contents section narrows down the recipes for each season and also Holiday favorites. Spring recipes take advantage of fresh Grilled Salmon and Chicken and Couscous, whereas Fall enjoys the flavors of Apples, and Pan-Seared Scallops!
What I liked best about this book is that it contained quite a bit of diversity. There were a wide range of flavors, techniques and seasonal favorites used throughout the book. Interspersed throughout the recipes, Michael shares a little bit about himself to his readers.
I think this recipe book is a great one for anyone who enjoys cooking. I would say that it's probably geared more towards the more adventurous cook, but I think a lot of people could benefit from it. I rate this book as 4 stars.
I received this book for free from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.
