The Wired Soul by Tricia McCary Rhodes

Do you find yourself having to be constantly busy, not being able to be still and just enjoy the quiet? Are you constantly multitasking, trying to rush through your day?

In 2016 we are constantly moving, always on our phones, computers, tablets, televisions, and other electronic devices. What most people don't realize is that by simultaneously checking our email and responding to facebook messages, we are wiring our brains into being busy all the time. We're getting distracted more, and having a hard time falling asleep at night. We struggle to get into God's Word and to be still and listen to God speaking to us.

Tricia McCary Rhodes reintroduces us to classic disciplines of Scripture reading, meditation, prayer and contemplation.

This book teaches readers to slow down and just be still. To install practices into their life that will help them to daily be still and listen to God. To some people, I know meditation may seem a little "New Age" but the author is very careful to base her disciples on Biblical principals. It works almost as a devotional type book because there's different things to work on each day. It's not just a book to pick up and read. If you really want to take this book to heart, you must devote a little time each day to practicing these methods.

I rate this book as 4 stars. I received this book for free from Tyndale in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.
